Philosophy minor Joshua Mathew wins Goldwater Scholarship

Scholarship to support careers in science, mathematics and engineering.

Congratulations to Joshua Mathew, a junior minoring in philosophy and majoring in biological science, who has been awarded a 2026 scholarship by the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation, which encourages research careers in the sciences, mathematics and engineering. Joshua hopes the honor will springboard him into a M.D./Ph.D. program and a career as a physician-scientist, aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer.
