New faculty in epistemic and normative logic.

Congratulations to Ilaria Canavotto, who we are delighted to welcome to our faculty as Assistant Professor!

Ilaria received MA degrees in philosopy, and in logic and philosophy of science, at the Catholic University of Milan, and the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, respectively. Then in 2020, she completed her PhD at the University of Amsterdam, with a dissertation on "Where responsibility takes you: Logics of agency, counterfactuality and norms," which was awarded the 2021 E.W. Beth Dissertation Award for outstanding dissertations in the fields of Logic, Language and Information. After that, Ilaria stayed at Amsterdam for a while as a postdoc, before joining us on a second postdoctoral research position, working at the intersection between AI, law and machine ethics.
