Our everyday use of language is vague, and our everyday thinking is often muddled. One of the main purpose of this course is to introduce you to a way of thinking that encourages carefulness and precision.

Logic is the study of reasoning. The ability to recognize and use good reasoning is a basic skill required in all academic work. Logic provides us with many of the basic academic competencies such as the ability to identify and formulate problems and evaluate solutions; the recognition of fallacious reasoning; the ability to draw reasonable conclusions from given information; and the ability to justify one’s conclusions. After successfully completing this course your skills in these areas will be boosted.
