This course will use a recent argument for a "fictionalist" interpretation of moral judgments to organize readings from some of the main figures in twentieth-century moral theory.  Our central focus will be on positions in metaethics (moral realism, error theory, expressivism, etc.), but our readings will also provide examples of some of the standard approaches to normative ethics (consequentialism, virtue ethics, and contractualism).
