This course will cover recent work on distributive justice and other philosophical issues arising from economics. Possible topics include capitalism and exploitation, the proper extent of markets, justice and economic history, paradoxes of wealth and happiness, and the rationality of intertemporal discounting. Sample authors: Robert Nozick, Derek Parfit, Thomas Pogge, GA Cohen, Samuel Scheffler.
