This course focuses on work by philosophers and psychologists concerning the role played in moral judgment and motivation by intuition, emotion, reason, character, and circumstances.

To illustrate different current approaches to the subject, we'll read selections from an anthology of interdisciplinary work:

Nadelhofer et al (eds.), Moral psychology:  Historical and Contemporary Readings (Wiley- Blackwell) [978-1-4051-9019-0] and from a book of philosophical essays: Arpaly, Unprincipled Virtue:  An Inquiry into Moral Agency (Oxford) [0-19-517976-5].
